BAND:
The Renders are an unusual trio of whip-smart girls uniting to create something dynamic
and fresh musically. Their songs are characterized by infectious melodies and haunting vocal
harmonies paired with ingenious and completely off-center lyrics. All of this is layered over
crunchy guitars, fabulously intricate bass lines and driving bullet-paced drums. What sets the
Renders apart from so many bands is simply and importantly, the songwriting! In the words
of one fan "the songs are just genius."
From melodies that get stuck in your head to completely abstruse lyrics, these songs are immediately
catchy and intriguing. Though they have a
distinct sound all their own, comparisons run the gamut from The Beach Boys to Blondie to Weezer.
Recent accomplishments include an appearance on the Tyra Banks show (the show used five of their
songs during that episode). They also played the L.A. Pride Festival main stage opening for the
legendary all girl rock band The Bangles and were asked to endorse Daisy Rock guitars.
The Renders were formed in 2005 and quickly starting playing the live circuit. After 2 years of
performing and perfecting, a couple of line-up changes (expanding and contracting), the Renders are now a
solid trio with a really fun and energetic live show that leaves audiences yearning to "do it again!"
They are also a completely do-it-yourself, indie rock band. In this vein, they recorded, mixed and produced a
5 song EP on a home computer. Burning copies themselves to sell at live shows, they also sent a
few copies out to local radio stations. Though completely home-made, their EP was so well received,
that they were given air-play on Indie 103.1 fm as well as many other radio stations, had one of their
songs featured in a surfing video about surfer-girl Kim Mayer and still continues to receive glowing and
rave reviews. A full length album is in the works and will be released early 2007.
